The
Company
Kerra Penn wanted to start a company where she could
use all of her experience
and her love of a good story and make a company out of it. So how do
you
take
ten years experience in professional writing ranging from
business to comedy
writing, television producing, expertise in sales and marketing and
a
love of
building lasting relationships with clients and turn it into
a business?
You team up with a creative producing partner that has incredible
technically savvy
and possesses your same
passion and you form Moving Moment Productions. And
how does all of this
experience help Moving Moment Productions fulfill that dream
for co-founders Kerra
Penn and Pat Ulie and make us the best at what we do for
our
clients?
Love of a Good Story: What is a great producer really? A
great storyteller.
It’s what we do best.
Business Writing: Moving Moment Productions is much more than
a
"point, shoot and edit" operation. We can work with clients to
create powerful
scripts that drive their corporate communication message home.
Comedy Writing: Both Kerra and Pat have written comedy for
corporate entertainment,
stand-up, improv groups, short films and television. Have you ever
seen a local comedy
film festival and asked yourself, “Is this the best that they could
do?” The problem is,
most of the films are made by comedians that don’t know how to make
a film
or filmmakers who can’t write comedy. We are experts at both and we
use this
expertisewhenever humor is needed in our video projects.
Television Producing: We produce your video using the same
methods that any television
production company uses. We are able to manage your video project
from concept through
completion.
Expertise in Sales and Marketing: Kerra has worked as a PR
Manager, a Marketing
Specialist and has consistently been number-one in every sales
position she has had.
This allows her to easily grasp the message that our corporate
clients want to communicate
to their audience and create a powerful sales tool through smart
scripting and directing.
Technical Savvy – Pat Ulie is a cameraman extraordinaire and
a can create magic
during the editing
process.
Build Lasting Relationships – We help company’s bring their
corporate communications
to a whole
new level by building a relationship
built on trust and understanding. Our Tribute Videos
bring friends and families closer than ever imagined. Pat and Kerra
find this the
most rewarding part of their jobs. The company was
founded on this principle.

Kerra Penn, Co-founder, Producer,
Director, Writer.
Kerra Penn was a film major at Pennsylvania State
University.
After a stint as an on-air radio personality, her career in producing
began when she met the owner of a production company in Asia.
He was starting the first music video show in Malaysia. Apparently,
her film and music background was just what he was looking for.
The task of getting this show on the air two weeks after she was
hired was a challenge to say the least. There was no cast, no crew,
no studio and much to her chagrin, she discovered that the country’s
top-selling artists did not have music videos because they had never
needed them before this show. So Kerra and the other producers
scrambled to shoot live performances of these acts so that they had
“videos” to be played on the show. Miraculously they managed to get
the show on air on time. This highly successful show launched a music
video industry for the country. In addition to writing all of the show's
scripts, Kerra cast and directed the host who went on to win “Best
Host in Asia” at the Asian Television Awards (Asian Emmys) for his
work on this show.
She then partnered with a friend to co-create a new show called
Style TV. This show was broadcast on Astro TV a satellite channel
that has a viewing audience of over 4 billion people.
Upon returning to the United States she was a finalist in the “Twin
Cities Funniest Person Contest” in a stand-up comedy competition
competing against hundreds of people. After moving to Chicago
she wrote corporate comedy for the famed Second City until she
landed a job working in the production office of the CBS drama
"Early Edition" for its final season. Later she worked as a producer,
writer and host of the local Chicago program, Your Chicago Show.
In addition to her production experience Kerra has over ten years of
professional writing experience and a strong marketing and sales
background. The fact that Kerra was the top sales person in the
nation for a publicly traded company for two years before starting
Moving Moment Productions speaks to her ability to get across a
strong sales and marketing message for MMP’s corporate clients.

Pat Ulie, Co-founder, Producer,
Director, Editor
Pat Ulie is a seasoned
video producer with years of experience as a director,
cameraman, editor, writer, and
graphics specialist. In addition to graduating
from Loyola University with a
degree in Film/TV Production, he earned a certificate
from Oakton Community College for
Animation/Multimedia. He has used his skills
and talent to create numerous
independent films.
In addition, he graduated from the
Second City Training Center where
he wrote and
acted in many well-received comedy
shows and was the co-founder of a
comedy
group that performed for both the public
and corporate events. One film
that he
produced, wrote and directed for the
annual AFI/Sony Visions Video Contest
prompted the creation of a new category
for comedy shorts. Another comedy
film
was featured on WTTW's Image Union
25-Year Anniversary Special.
Most recently, in 2007, Pat was a
nominated for, “Outstanding Achievement for
